NOTD: Orly - Glowstick.

I attempted to use this polish on its own, but I swear to god it was so difficult to apply and I just put coat after coat on to smooth it out.  It was an epic fail.  I noticed that another blogger said that they used white underneath the highlighter yellow color, so I tried that.  IT LOOKS AWESOME, and it was sooo much easier to apply.

I started with my base coat, then two coats of Essie Blanc and two coats of Glowstick, followed by a coat of Seche Vite, of course, to make it uber shiny!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

Yes, yes, I am indeed talking about Deborah Lippmann's Yellow Brick Road.  It arrived in the mail today and I could not wait to do a glitter jelly sandwich with this sheer little yellow number! This was one polish that I decided that I had to have after seeing it on somebody else's blog.

Now, I'm kind of regretting not sandwiching Rainbow Connection in between the layers instead of Nicole by OPI's Make U Smile.  Of course, Make U Smile is still pretty, being shiny silver glitter and all!

I must say, it looks pretty good!  I used two coats of Yellow Brick Road to start (did I mention how sheer it is? It's PERFECT for glitter jelly sandwich manis!), a coat of Make U Smile, another YBR, another Make U Smile, and then one final YBR.  Then I topped it with Seche Vite, which I also got in the mail today.

I didn't really need the top coat, but it helped it dry faster, given I used 6 layers of polish, not including my base coat.

On to the pictures!

Swatch: Lighthouse

I was going to do a post with pictures of the mani I'm wearing today, but my computer's being weird; therefore, I do not want to attempt to upload pictures.  Of course, I did this a while back:

China Glaze - Lighthouse is a very sheer shimmer/fine glitter polish.  I'm wearing three coats and there was still some VNL, but overall it looked pretty good.  I didn't have time to clean up properly after I did my nails that day, so there's some glitter on my cuticles.  oops.  Oh well.

I'd bet that this would look awesome over black.  I'll have to keep that in mind!
