OPI + China Glaze + accent nail dots

When I found OPI - It's My Year at Winners one day, I knew I'd hit the jackpot.  This polish is GORGEOUS, and it's from the 2011 Miss Universe collection, so it's probably kinda hard to find.  Well, I HAD TO HAVE IT.  Sorry, I'm yelling, but I cannot contain my excitement.  It's My Year is a beautiful plum colored polish packed with gold shimmer.  You can see why I love it, right? THE SHINY!

I used three coats of this wonderful polish on every nail except the ring finger.  On the ring finger, I used China Glaze Purr-fect Plum from the On Safari collection, and then I dotted it with It's My Year.  It looked pretty darn awesome, I must say!

Rainbow Connection: The Obsession

As the title of this post states, yes, I adore Rainbow Connection by OPI.  I adore it so much that a while back I did two manicures in a row using it as a glitter top coat.  How very creative of me.

First I used it on top of Essence Color & Go choose me!, and then I layered it over OPI's Planks A Lot from the Pirates of the Carribean collection.

I also tried out the Sally Hansen Diamond Flash fast dry top coat.  I like it, but not for dense glitters.  For those I prefer Sally Hansen's Insta Dri or Seche Vite.

OPI Germany Collection

Last week I picked up four of the new OPI Germany polishes.
  • Deutsche You Want Me Baby?
  • German-icure by OPI
  • Suzi and the 7 Dusseldorfs
  • Unfor-Greta-bly Blue
I was going to post swatches earlier in the week, but I decided that I'd wait until I swatched all four (and wore them each for a day to show off their prettyness!).

Without further adieu, on with the polish.

Deutsche You Want Me Baby?

Unfor-Greta-bly Blue

German-icure by OPI

And finally, Suzi and the 7 Dusseldorfs

I really liked the application of these polishes.  They were smooth and easy to apply, not to mention shiny and gorgeous.  I used top coat to boost the shine even more.  They glistened! I would definitely recommend these colors, and I'm thinking I shall try to snag a few more from this collection.  I want some of the cremes.

What do you get when you combine...

Essie's Lights, Action, and Mojito Madness + OPI black shatter + Rainbow Connection?

THIS, of course:

I did this manicure on Friday.  I started with stripes of the Essie polishes, covered it in black shatter, and then doused it in glitter.  Have I ever mentioned how OPI Rainbow Connection is one of my favorite glitter polishes? I love it.  It spices up everything. :D

I think it turned out pretty cool!

Hello there!

Unfortunately, the past few days have been quite busy, therefore I've been unable to post; however, I do have a couple of cute manis to show you this week! I also have some neat ideas up my sleeve, so my nails will be looking pretty funky later on.

I went to Chatters on Saturday and picked up OPI DS Temptation, OPI Don't Touch My Tutu, and a couple of China Glaze Summer Neons (I'm With the Lifeguard and Hang Ten-toes...I think I bought Hang Ten-toes! It was one of the pinks!).

I'll post pictures of these polishes later, but for now...I'm at work.  SHHH, I'm not slacking, I swear! xD

I'm currently wearing Don't Touch My Tutu, and I also have a couple of pictures on my camera, but I'm not sure if I'll post them.  It was a rushed manicure and it does not look very nice.  I really love these OPI New York City Ballet Collection polishes, though! They're sheer, but so pretty!

Nothing Mousie 'bout it, but black is back.

Today's mani consists of Nothing Mousie 'bout it (shown in the last post) from OPI's Minnie Mouse collection, and Black is Back from Essence.  The OPI polish has little pink hearts in it, but you can barely tell from the photo in the last post.  I also had to big-time fish for the hearts.  I'm still in love with the polish, though! With or without the hearts, it's sooooo cute! <3

The Essence polish was a bit weird to apply.  It went on fine, but if you didn't do it perfectly, it kind of got a little clumpy. Of course, I fixed it by applying another coat.  I used two coats, but it was definitely opaque in just one.  When that was dry, I topped it off with two coats of Nothin' Mousie 'bout it.  The end result looked like a dark purple fine glitter polish.

Here's a few pictures of just the black polish.  Please ignore how messy it looks! I fail at applying black polish. D:

Now, here's some pictures of the black with the pink glitter on top:

I really wish my camera could capture the true look of this manicure.  It's really so purple-y and gorgeous.  I love it.  I love how Nothin' Mousie 'bout it applied as well.  I would definitely recommend that polish, even if you do have to fish for the glitter hearts.

Weekend Haul.

I REALLY NEED TO STOP BUYING NAIL POLISH. -repeats to self-
Buuuut, it's so prettttayyy.

Of course, I went to Shoppers Drug Mart over the weekend to purchase some more Essence polishes.  The one that I desperately wanted was not there, so I bought Black is Back and Luxury Secret, and the next day I bought a bunch of colors from Lawtons.  I cannot enter a store without browsing the nail polish section.

In order, they are:

  • Sally Hansen - Rock n' Roll
  • Essence - Black is Back
  • Essence - Luxury Secret
  • Sinful Colors - Purple Diamond
  • Sinful Colors - Daredevil
  • Sinful Colors - Pink Glitter
  • OPI - Nothing Mousie 'bout it
  • Milani - Green Glow
  • Milani - Ruby Jewels
Those are my first Sinful Colors and Milani polishes, so I need to try them to see if I like them or not!

Are you calling me a lyre?

I'm practically in love with this sheer OPI color from the New York City Ballet collection.  The application was smooth and flawless.  I used three coats for it to become more or less opaque, then I layered a coat of Nicole by OPI's "Make U Smile" over it, which is basically silver fine glitter mixed with silver hex glitter, from the Justin Bieber collection.  I'm no JB fan, but I do love this glitter polish!

Anywho, I have some swatch photos of Are You Calling Me A Lyre? and then a few more with Make U Smile on top.
